1. The last thing I ate was Homemade Veggie curry with non-homemade garlic Naan. Very nice it was too!

2. The next thing I'd like to eat is Ice Cream would be lovely right now.

3. The best things are often the things we take for granted.

4. Something that makes me supremely and utterly happy is Dancing and singing along to a favourite song, especially when I'm not alone!

5. Sports are not a big thing in this household. Although we do get tempted by the big England matches.

6. I miss Gigs! I haven't been to any since having Cal, I need to start rectifying this soon.

7. Right now I am Watching live Glastonbury coverage and singing along to the very very excellent Mumford and Sons, and feeling very jealous of my friends who are there. (Although the weather looks terrible!)

Bit of a summer theme going on this week, maybe to celebrate the little bit of sun we are having at the moment!

These two beautiful dresses by Komodo, I love all their designs and it's all fair trade and eco produced. I had a Komodo coat a few years back and it lasted so well, as have all the T-shirts Paul has had from them, so definitely worth an investment.

Recycled shoes by Simple. Recycled and polka dot, what more could you ask for!

And finally Weleda Deodorant which has been getting me through the summer. The scent is quite strong as first spray but calms down to a lovely mellow citrus, and no white marks, ace!

1. The last movie I saw was Definitely, Maybe. A bit cheesy for my taste but it was on TV and Ryan Reynolds is hot ;)

2. I want to eat copious amounts of cake today in the sun. Sadly, no cake and no sun.

3. Surprises are fun to create and fun to receive!

4. The best accessory is a big whopping hair clip, goes with anything!

5. My favorite warm drink is Chai Latte, Starbucks style.

6. My favorite cold drink is Bottlegreen Lemongrass and Ginger Cordial (At the moment that is, I'm very fickle!)

7. Currently loving Band of Horses album, the occasional sunny day and Taco Salads!

My green things this week is a bit lacking but comprises of two things I've bought this week that I can't get enough of...

This awesome book is a low fat vegan cookbook. I've cooked a few things out of it already and they were so tasty, particularly the Taco Salad. It's American so I had to Google a few things to find out the UK equivalent but most of them turned out to be available in supermarkets here as well. The author has a website at http://www.theppk.com with some of the recipes on too so worth a look if you're looking for some healthy, tasty treats!

Weleda Skin Food. I am seriously gutted that I hadn't found this sooner. It's seriously fantastic stuff for dry patches and even works on my eczema. Get some!

I've seen this on a few other blogs, so thought I'd join in the week, go to http://thelittlethingswedo.blogspot.com if you fancy joining in too :)

1. This weekend I'm going full on fancy dress to my friends Hen night and yes, I look ridiculous, excited though!

2. My last vacation was camping at Hawkshead in the Lake District with my boys and some friends, it was a lot of fun and very chilled out. Such a beautiful little village too.

3. My next vacation will be a trip over to Jersey and possibly France with my family, apart from Paul who is on a stag weekend!

4. My favorite way to relax is with a good book and a glass of wine ;)

5. When vacationing one should always relax, and try leave the stresses of home behind.

6. When vacationing one should never be afraid to explore and see as much as possible. So many people go to beautiful countries and just sit by the pool the whole time.

7. The best part about a vacation is experiencing new places, and food!

Upcycling and Recycling

I've been wondering what to do with this amazingly cute pillowcase I thrifted for a while now- do I use it, do I hang onto it or do I upcycle it for some pretty things to go into my yet unopened shop! Well in bed last night I had a flash of inspiration and it's going to be upcycled! I think if I had the set I'd hang onto it but it's too lovely not to be used.

Talking of Recycling (Sort of!) Look at this awesome car my Brother rescued from a skip! Cal loves cars and steering wheels and loved this little push along, his Pop's and Uncle got a bit bored of pushing him up and down the street after a while though!

This Purse, by NV London.Calcutta, It's lovely!

This People Tree Dress, It's sold out on their website but hoping I can get some pennies saved before it sells out everywhere. Love bird print.

Dr Hauschka Eyeshadow, My skin can't abide non natural make-up and this is as lovely as any chemical ridden nasties. I'm currently using shade 09. It's got a lovely feel and smell to it too.

Aveda shampure, it's not 100% natural but free of the main usual nasties and the only shampoo that doesn't irritate my eczema. I haven't tried the conditioner yet but it's on my list!

Veg Tagine, I'm pretty sure it's vegan (Mine was) This is my new found craving meal, ever since I made it I want to eat it everyday! The Toasted Almond Couscous really makes it.

What a glorious weekend it's been! Apart from getting caught in a very light shower on Sunday the whole weekend has been beautiful, and we are currently enjoying a sunny Monday to start the week off.

A week involving Soaked Cashews and Cocktails!

So, last week I came out with the most hideous eczema around my eyes, it was truely hideous. I've always been an eczema sufferer but been fairly happy that my face has stayed eczema free. I avoid steroid creams as must as possible but if I get an outbreak that natural creams don't seem to clear up, I'll apply my prescription cream for a few days then switch back to natural (I can highly recommend Pure Potions, it's fab!). This usually keeps my skin under reasonable control. The eye incident was a different matter as I couldn't use any kind of cream without irritating my eyes, causing them to water and it was a whole horrible vicious cycle!

Anyway, what the whole incident did was made me re-evaluate my diet. It's obvious creams are not any magical answer, so dairy and wheat are going to have to be *very* minimal for a while. As I don't eat meat either I've been looking into a lot of vegan and raw recipes. I'm a huge lover of nuts and as I suffer from arthritis as well, all the nut oils are very good for me- Yey! Here's my first experiment with soaked cashew nuts, blended with a bit of oil- I was expecting a bit more of a butter but it's more like a humous- very tasty with salad though!

On a more personal note, it's mine and Paul's 6th wedding anniversary today, where has the time gone! We celebrated yesterday by going for the most wonderful meal in Manchester at a restaurant called Zouk, the vegetarian selection is amazing! We followed this with drink and cocktails in some really cool vintagey bars- what could be better :)

Happy Play

It's wonderful watching little C grown from a baby into a little boy, there's so many milestones and achievements that it's difficult to keep up with them all! This afternoon I was sat drinking tea in my parents conservatory when I noticed C had been playing on his own happily for at least ten minutes and I realised that he didn't need me to entertain him anymore. Look how happy he is with a few cars and spacemen!

New Blog!

New Blog, New look! It must be nearly a year since I last typed my bit on blogger, what happened? Well, life and a toddler got in the way! But I'm back in the (online) land of the living now I'm getting some sleep- me time at last! So C is now 22 months and very much into everything- running, digging, playing, eating, laughing and having lots of fun! He's a joy to be around, even when he's up to mischief!

So here is my ongoing project I'm determined to finish! I started this when I was cooking little C, so over 2 years ago now! The finished squares at the front look so brilliant together so I've given myself a kick up the bum and I'm off to dig out my hook and yarn ;)
